Kickstarter is definitely the start-up company’s friend these days, and it’s not short on some pretty talented coffee related companies trying to make their way. Here’s some of our faves:
Jiva Coffee Cubes
Natalie and Allen went on Kickstarter with a funding goal of $1000, but ended up being funded for an impressive $21,173 by 690 backers. These guys are bringing full taste and quality product to the instant coffee industry with their hand-crafted coffee cubes comprised of Columbian Arabica beans and infused with raw cane sugar. It can be used hot or cold on the go.
KONE Coffee Filter + Brewing System
Keith Gehrke of Able Brewing developed a stainless steel filter and ceramic brewer set that makes drip coffee manually and is great for steeping loose leaf tea. What’s neat about this besides being aesthetically pleasing, is after brewing coffee or tea in it you can remove the filter and replace it with the lid – easy pouring and serving!
VivaJava: The Coffee Game
Soon your love of coffee can be taken to a whole new level since VivaJava’s funding goal was way overshot with a total of $56,052 donated by 771 backers. This multi-player board game is all about finding the perfect blend of beans to create the next best-seller in coffee houses and homes all over the world. Players will have to work together, but there can only be one winner.
MistoBox
MistoBox is pretty nifty. There are more micro-roasters out there than you could ever imagine – but who has time to find or travel to them all? MistoBox solves this problem for coffee lovers desperately seeking that next refined cup by sending subscribers 4 unique coffee samples each month to try. Once you find one you can’t live without, simply head to MistoBox’s website to order your supply. Did we mention that along with each delivery you also get recipes, tasting notes, and information on brewing methods and the roasters?
Coffee Cereal: The Caffeinated Breakfast Cereal
Coffee Cereal will allow you to have your coffee and eat it too. Two students, Andrew and Anthony, have developed a coffee that has corn flake nutrition, taste of coffee, and that caffeine boost so desperately needed in the morning. We can’t wait to try this one!
