Trader Joe’s may not have locations in Hawaii, but residents can certainly hope! The specialty grocery chain has made it clear that they had no current plans to set up shop in Hawaii, but maybe the Kona Coffee Farmers Association can change their mind.

Currently, there is a 400,000 square foot lot open for retail development in Maui, and Trader Joe’s is a tenant that is currently being pursued in hopes that they will choose to open a store there. To help things a little, the Big Island Trade Group offered Trader Joe’s an honorary membership into the Kona Coffee Farmers Association for their support of Kona coffee stores in the mainland US.
