1. It may help keep depression at bay

Harvard conducted a study that found that women that drink caffeinated coffee on a daily basis have a 20% lower risk of depression. This study followed a group of women for 10 years.

2. Your coffee machine is a breeding ground for bacteria

Your un-sanitized coffee reservoir plays host to an army of yeast, mold, and bacteria. Most people don’t disinfect it regularly, and when they don’t your reservoir will build up all these yucky organisms due to stagnant water and humidity. Clean those machines, people!

3. Fertility booster

“Studies have shown that caffeine has a positive effect on sperm motility—the ability of sperm to move toward an egg—and could increase your chances of [getting pregnant],” states John Wilcox, MD, FACOG, managing partner and reproductive endocrinologist at HRC Fertility in California. Sperm count has actually found to be staggeringly higher in coffee drinkers as opposed to non-coffee drinkers.

4. Skin cancer reducer

It has been found, by a recent study at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, thatwomen who drank more than three cups of coffee a day had a 20% lower risk for basal cell carcinoma. Men had a 9% lower risk. That’s pretty amazing!

5. Weight regulation

Drinking coffee after a meal can slow down the digestive system a bit, and boost your body’s metabolic rate. “Caffeine decreases the rate at which the stomach dumps its contents into the duodenum—a part of the small intestine where digestion takes place—and also increases metabolic rate.” states David Levitsky, PHD at Cornell University. So, while i probably won’t cause you to lose weight, it will help you maintain a healthy weight.
