In a city where it’s hot more often than not, and dancing until dawn is the norm – cool coffee houses are a must. We can’t say Miami is a hot spot for great coffee houses, but there are certainly some undeniably good ones that know how to serve a fantastic cup o’ joe – and a good Cuban Colada. Here’s our picks:
Moloko
Address: 3201 N Miami Avenue
Moloko is truly an original coffee house – a coffee house that serves up crepes! All the coffees are served in over sized ceramic mugs, which just adds to the splendidly warm and cozy atmosphere. Plus the pricing is refreshingly inexpensive. You’ll really feel like you should be paying more for the coffee craftsmanship here.
Favorite drink: New Orleans Cafe au lait
Alaska Coffee Roasting Company
Address: 13130 Biscayne Blvd.
You’ll just love it here. The owner originally started this company in none other than Alaska, then decided to open a second location in Miami – as if he could get any further! All the coffee, be it from Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, or Nicaragua, is carefully roasted in small batches right in the store – and you can really taste it in the coffee. As fresh as fresh can get!
Favorite drink: Espresso – they really know how to pull a great espresso here!
Roho Cuban Coffee
If you’re looking for a good Colada and an authentic Cuban atmosphere – you’ll find it here! You’ll feel like you’ve stepped straight into Havana. Heaven is enjoying a Colada along with a fresh pastelito or flan. Yum!
Favorite drink: Colada, of course!
