The world is embracing coffee like never before. In fact, coffee is even being called “the new wine”. The world loves coffee so much, that even fast food joints are amping up their coffee supply. McDonald’s displayed their effort to support this growing demand for better coffee by starting its McCafe line of premium coffee drinks in 2009 (increasing its sales by 25%), then came Wendy’s with its Redheaded Roasters line, and most recently is Burger King with its new line of Seattle’s Best coffee and iced coffee. We even hear they have a cappuccino line coming soon.
Americans have a giant coffee habit, and a good portion of it is drink at home. Many times it’s because many of us are super picky about our brews and choose just to do it ourselves, but for a good chunk of the population it’s because stopping every day at Starbucks or Peet’s Coffee can just get expensive. These coffee lines being offered by our most popular fast food establishments is also aiming to fix that. Many of McDonald’s coffees are being offered for a dollar, or a little over, and Burger King’s new line of coffee, iced coffee, and latte’s start at just a dollar. Getting a good cup of coffee while on the go has never been more affordable.
